WHAT'S NEW? A South Philadelphia Success Story Thursday, June 02, 2011
Jeanette also happens to be one of 1260’s first tenants ever - having moved into her current home in South Philadelphia in the early 1990’s. Jeanette told me that at first it was a struggle to adjust to her new neighborhood. In fact, she had a very difficult time with her next door neighbor, who constantly complained about the noise that her young son made. But they are now the best of friends! In fact, now Jeanette really likes her little street and just about everyone who lives there. She is invited to the occasional block party with open arms. She also loves her job at Lowe’s, and celebrated her third anniversary there on June 16. She has received a raise each year and finds her co-workers and management to be a great bunch of people. An added bonus is the ability to walk to work, as her home is near Front & Snyder, just a few blocks from the store. She loves her house and really appreciates the improvements – new carpets, painting, and central air – that 1260 did as part of a recent upgrade.
